When we usually get together with friends there's always game night and karaoke night just to name a few. Why not try out a fun paint night right at home. For those of you looking to change up your routine, we'll talk about all the items you'll need to get your art party started.

First thing we should mention, is that you do not need to know how to paint at all to partake in a paint night. It's all very straight forward, and the whole point of it is to have fun and just go with the flow to see what you can create - remember it's always more fun with a glass of wine at hand.

Here is a list of all the items you'll need:

  • Table Cover

  • Table Easel

  • Canvas

  • Paper plates ( for mixing paint )

  • Paint

  • Paint Brushes

  • Cup of water

  • Paper Towels

  • Apron

When you are setting up your paint party you can opt to choose to paint on the floor or sit at a table. It's always recommended to either use a table cover or newsprint paper to cover the surface of where you will paint, this way you don't get paint on the floors or any surface you don't want to mess up.

A small easel is all you'll need for painting to go along with a small or medium sized canvas. Working with these sizes saves time and the amount of paint you'll purchase for everyone. Now when it comes to the paint, acrylic paint is always best for these quick sessions. This paint is a water based paint, so you'll want to make sure everyone has their own small cup of water to use. Acrylic paint dries very fast and your whole painting can be completely dry almost 20 minutes after you finished painting. For small group sizes you can purchase quart size paint tubes this way everyone has enough paint to work with.

The right brushes are essential to make the process easy going, as there are a wide range of options to choose from. Stick with acrylic brushes to use along with your acrylic paint. You can use two or three brushes for your party - more than three is just not needed and becomes much pricier.

Last but not least is an apron. When it comes to paint parties as much as you try keeping from things being messy, paint always ends up on your clothes, shoes etc. I highly recommend to use an apron this way you can just focus on creating your awesome painting and fun conversation.

Now that you know everything that you'll need to start your paint night, there are a few ways to get all your materials together. You can purchase your items individually or purchase pre-packaged Paint Kits, which are more budget friendly and are available for shipping.
